Ruins of Valgor gets a full visual rework

by NesciO, Bachiki Entertainment

Ruins of Valgor is the first arena we built. It is also the one we keep coming back to. This week we did the full visual rework we have been promising it for months.

What changed

A painterly floor pass with thirty thousand instanced grass tufts now carpets the open ground. The major geometry runs as baked optimized meshes that draw faster than the live versions did. Custom stairs and a central fountain replaced the placeholder slabs that used to sit in the middle. Crumbling wall details run around the perimeter, with broken edges that catch light at the right angle in evening matches.

Water shader carryover

The stylized water we built for Veinwood landed here too. The puddles around the new fountain reflect and ripple correctly under the storm sky we picked for Valgor. Small detail, but it sells the place.

Combat reads the same

Sightlines, pillars, ramps, the bridge: every dimension that mattered for fights is intact. We did not move a single collider. The arena reads the same in a fight. It just looks like a real ruin now instead of a blockout.

For players who learned every sight line on the old version: you do not need to relearn anything. Hop in and the place still feels like Valgor, just better.
