First playable build is up
First playable build is in our hands. Third-person camera, click-to-target combat, the first arena in blockout, and an early Swashbuckler class with a real global cooldown and a rage bar that drains when you stop swinging.
The netcode is the part we are proudest of. Server runs at 20Hz. The client predicts at 60Hz. The server never rolls back on micro-drift. Only a real disagreement (over a unit of error, a rejected action, a CC) snaps you back. Result: movement that feels smooth at every latency we tested, locally and over a tunnel.
Plenty of rough patches got banged out the same week. Ability inputs occasionally dropped between frames. Nameplates flickered between server ticks. A short-lived A/D keyboard-turning experiment got reverted in two minutes after we tried strafing in a real fight. Setup-phase stuff.
Ruins of Valgor ships with a bridge, pillars, ramps, and walkable line-of-sight. Casts cancel when the target breaks LoS. Interrupts do not waste a cooldown. The combat scaffolding is done. Everything from here gets built on top.
